I hope Blizzard is taking that into account, but from the start I have sort of felt this vibe of “everyone was mad about Diablo 3 so we’re going back to Diablo 2” without acknowledging all Diablo 3 did accomplish once it pulled itself together. 2) that Diablo 3 isn’t being fully thrown out the window in every way in an effort to chase Diablo 2, as that evolved into a phenomenal game and all its systems shouldn’t just be discarded for no reason. 1) that respec-ing is not impossible or overly laborious so we are not locked into builds. It seems like the kind of depth I would hope for in Diablo 4, and yet I very much hope for two things. I actually like what I’m seeing with all this. It’s somewhat hard to parse all this without fully seeing it in action, but it’s easy to see how they knew they wanted to absolutely go back to a full tree system, and are at least emulating games like Path of Exile to a certain extent with these kinds of upgrades.
